BIOGRAPHY

Qantas Socceroos

Highly talented attacking midfielder/striker who was an integral member of the Hull City team that gained promotion to the Premier League for the first time in its long history in 2008.

Garcia left Australian shores as a youngster to join the famed West Ham United youth academy, and was a key member of the team that won the FA Youth Cup and FA Premier Youth League double in 1998-99.

Suffered a major knee injury in 2000, ending any hopes of playing at Sydney 2000 Olympics and stalled his promising career. Made limited appearances for West Ham's first team and moved to Colchester and help them win promotion to The Championship.

In 2007 decided to move to Hull, rejecting a new offer to stay at Colchester, a move that proved the right one, given where the two teams finished at the end of the 2007/08 season.

Made debut for Australia in 2-2 draw against South Africa in August 2008.

Injuries have again cost him game time at club and international level over the past two years, but he has remained on Pim Verbeek's radar.
